The Air Jordan 3, the third-generation basketball shoe in the Jordan series, made its debut in 1987, renowned for its striking crackle patterns.
    The 1988 Slam Dunk Contest held in Chicago was heralded as one of the most thrilling events in history. It featured three former dunk champions: Wilkins, Webber, and the legendary Michael Jordan himself. In the grand finale, Jordan executed a free throw line dunk, clinching the championship and etching this dunk as an iconic moment in the annals of basketball history.
    Tinker Hatfield's recollections of that scene from 30 years ago remain vivid. The Air Jordan 3, one of the most beloved Air Jordan models of all time, set a new standard in style and technology within the Michael Jordan brand sneaker lineup. Much like the Air Jordan 2, the Air Jordan 3 seamlessly blended sophistication with style, foregoing the large Swoosh on the sides in favor of the distinctive Air logo on the back. The shoe introduced three groundbreaking elements: a fresh Jumpman logo on the tongue, a gray elephant skin-like print on the upper, and a visible Air unit in the heel. The Air Jordan 3, like its predecessor, bore a significant price tag of $100. However, the departure of both Peter Moore, the designer of the first two Air Jordan silhouettes in 1987, and Rob Strasser, the vice president of marketing, to embark on their own ventures within the same week, complicated matters and led to production delays for the Air Jordan 3. This was further compounded by the impending renewal of Jordan's contract with the brand.
